The behavior of micropiled raft foundations subjected to combined vertical and lateral loading: numerical study

چکیده

Abstract The micropiled raft offers a foundation system that combines the advantages of conventional piled and efficient installation micropiles. In this paper, comprehensive numerical analysis was conducted on behavior rafts under combined vertical lateral loading using finite element modeling. A model calibrated against full-scale axial field tests is used to conduct analysis. soil profile soft clay underlain by layer dense sand. Numerous cases were analyzed assess performance while considering several factors may affect performance, such as micropiles spacing, thickness, magnitude loading, length, their arrangement. difference between primary an existing enhanced underpinning also investigated. load capacity raft, bending moment, shear force along depth estimated. Moreover, load-sharing ratio assessed. Based parametric study results, significant guidelines for choosing suitable configurations initial design purposes provided.
